NOTE!

  • Formatting the microSD card will delete all the recordings on the card, please make sure to back up the necessary files by saving them in the internal memory or on BlackVue Cloud (Cloud compatible dashcam’s only), or by connecting the microSD card to the computer before formatting it.
  • Formatting the microSD card fortnightly is recommended to maintain a healthy microSD card.
  • It is recommended to use the BlackVue microSD cards only. If a 3rd party microSD card is to be used please ensure that it is minimum MLC quality such as the Samsung Pro Endurance. TLC microSD cards have shown to be unstable when used for prolonged periods.

 

Format using dashcam’s self-format function:

DR750S and DR900S series camera

To format the microSD card press the Wi-Fi/format button on the side of the dashcam for 5 seconds until the dash cam beeps. Release and hold for a further 5 seconds.


DR650S series and older cameras

To format the microSD card press the Wi-Fi/Format button on the side of the dashcam for 10 seconds until the dashcam beeps.


Format using GUIformat (Windows only):

  1. Download GUIformat from our website and open the program on your computer.
  2. Once opened select the microSD card from the Drive menu and ensure that all windows are closed in the background.
  3. Then press start to format the SD Card.

 

Format using Windows Viewer:

  1. Power off the dashcam and take out the microSD card.
  2. Insert the microSD card into the microSD card reader.
  3. Connect the microSD card reader to your computer.
  4. Download it from our website and install the program on your computer and run.
    *wait for 20~30 seconds until the the BlackVue Viewer completes listing up the recordings.
  5. Click the Format button.
  6. Select the microSD card drive and click OK.

                                      

 

Format using Mac Viewer:

  1. Power off the dashcam and take out the microSD card.
  2. Insert the microSD card into the microSD card reader.
  3. Connect the microSD card reader to your computer.
  4. download it from our website and install the program on your computer and run.
    *wait for 20~30 seconds until the the BlackVue Viewer completes listing up the recordings.
  5. Click the Format button.
  6. Select the microSD card from the list of drives in the left frame.    



  7. After selecting your microSD card select the Erase tab in the main window.
  8. Select “MS-DOS (FAT)” from the Volume Format drop-down menu and click Erase.
