If your camera constantly voicing "Please check the SD card" on repeat, then it may be caused by a failed microSD card or a faulty unit. This message will occur when the camera has encountered an error when trying to access the micro SD card to save a video file or to apply new firmware. Please follow the steps below to help resolve or pinpoint the cause of the issue.

  1. The most common fix for this issue is to perform a format on the microSD card. Unsure on how to format?
  2. If the issue is still persisting this could indicate that the microSD card has failed, we would advise trying an alternate microSD card to be used with the unit.
*Please format the alternate microSD card into FAT32 to ensure it will work with the BlackVue units
  3. If trialing a new microSD card does not correct the issue and the camera is still voicing this message, this could indicate that it has lost the capability of loop recording due to a hardware issue. Please lodge a ticket to our support staff detailing this so that further assistance can be provided.

NOTE!

  • If the following steps above do not resolve the issue, then please lodge a ticket so our support staff can assist further.
  • It is recommended to use BlackVue microSD cards only. If a 3rd party microSD card is to be used, then please ensure that it is at a minimum MLC quality, like the Samsung Pro Endurance. TLC microSD cards have shown to be unstable when used for prolonged periods.
