NOTE!

  • Manual recordings can not be created if the camera is currently recording an event file.
  • The Length of the manual recording file is the same as the set video segment length in the firmware settings
  • If event locking has been enabled, then this will also be applied to all manual recordings that are created.
  • When a manual recording file is created it will start 5 seconds before it has been triggered.

Manual recording is the fourth recording type for the BlackVue dash camera's. This was designed for the use of easily finding videos where events have occurred with no physical impact to your vehicle. Whether this is witnessing someone else's accident or being a victim of road rage.

By default manual recording is disabled, however it can be enabled in your firmware settings. Unsure how to change the firmware settings?

Once the firmware setting have been altered you will be able to start a manual recording by swiping the proximity sensor. Please refer to the image below for the location of the proximity sensor.

Once this has been triggered the camera will voice "Starting manual recording" and will save this to your microSD card. Once the manual recording is finished the camera will resume its previous recording type.
