What is the issue?
The misconception is the camera's ability to automatically power on when there is no power to the camera; the camera may not have power due to insufficient supply from the car's battery.
In parking mode, the camera will be running in a low-power mode yet still be receiving power in order to function. It will only record on motion or impact in parking mode.
Why is this occurring?
The camera will always require power to operate. Without it, it cannot record. The camera is unable to "power on" when motion or an impact is detected, it must be in parking mode.
What can be done to prevent this?
Ensure your BlackVue is equipped with a battery saver device, such as the Power Magic Pro, BlackVue B-112 or BlackVue B-124+. This will ensure your camera has parking mode capabilities when the vehicle is off for an amount of time.
If your vehicle is switched off and a device above is not fitted, then your camera will shut down when the car turns off.
